Burgundy Brand Collective (BBCO) has acquired Le Mill, one of India’s most influential and enduring voices in luxury fashion.
Founded by two French entrepreneurs Cecilia Morelli and Julie Leymarie, Le Mill was created from a shared vision for their adopted city, to build a space that reflects Mumbai’s energy and global outlook.
Over the last 15 years, Le Mill has played a defining role in shaping the luxury landscape in India.
At a time when the market was still nascent, it introduced a more personal, highly edited approach to retail—built on close relationships with global designers and a deeply engaged client base. It has served as the first platform in India for brands such as Saint Laurent, Loewe, and Chloé, while also pioneering early formats of WhatsApp and home shopping, long before they became industry-wide norms.
With this acquisition, Cecilia Morelli and Julie Leymarie pass the torch to Burgundy Brand Collective, marking the beginning of a new phase for the business.
“Julie and I have nurtured Le Mill over the last 15 years, and in the image of India itself, the brand has gone from strength to strength. We are excited today to pass the care of this brand on to BBCo, so it can benefit from the company's larger ecosystem and expand into new cities” said Cecilia Morelli, co-founder, Le Mill.
Burgundy Brand Collective will take the ownership and operational control, while the founders will remain closely involved at a strategic level.
Julie will continue to lead buying and brand relationships, ensuring continuity in the voice and direction that has defined Le Mill since its inception.
Samir Gadhok, Director, Burgundy Brand Collective, said that Le Mill holds a very distinct place in the market—not just for what it presents, but for how it interprets and shapes the luxury landscape in India.
Julie Leymarie, co-founder, Le Mill, said that this next chapter allows us to continue doing that, with a partner who understands the nuance.
Le Mill will continue to operate from Mumbai with the same team and client focus, and a clear emphasis on deepening its relationships with both brands and clients.
The acquisition brings Le Mill into a framework that supports its next phase, while retaining the perspective and relationships that have defined it.
