Hospitality company Tamara Leisure Experiences is on an expansion spree, aiming to start new properties beyond South India. Tamara Leisure said that it has developed a pan-India expansion plan and wants to have a portfolio of around 40 hotels by 2030.
Tamara Leisure said its new hotels will be based on an asset-light model as the company enters the phase of growth.
At present, Tamara Leisure has a total of 9 properties, with a total of 550 rooms or keys. The properties are operated under brands, including Tamara Eco Resorts (immersive luxury nature retreats), O by Tamara (premium business and leisure hospitality), Lilac Hotels, and Amal Tamara (clinical, Ayurveda-led wellness experiences).
Tamara Leisure said that it will fully fund its new project development internally.

Samir MC, CO of Tamara Leisure Experiences, said that the company will invest around Rs 550-600 crore to develop the new hotels.

"However, we are also looking for opportunities in the asset-light segment in our next phase of growth to scale up our pipeline to reach 40 hotels by 2030. Recently, under the asset-light model, we have inked a property in Kufri in Himachal Pradesh," Samir MC said.
Tamara Leisure Experiences has properties located in Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Additionally, it has a pipeline of Kaziranga in Assam and Bodh Gaya in Bihar.
