Aurobindo Pharma Share Buyback 2026: Aurobindo Pharma has announced a share buyback programme. Aurobindo Pharma, in an exchange filing, said that it will repurchase its shares of Re 1 face value from existing investors.
As per the filing, Aurobindo Pharma will buyback or repurchase a total of 54 lakh shares for a total value of Rs 800 crore (Buyback Size).
In terms of percentage, 54 lakh shares represent 0.93 per cent of Aurobindo Pharma's total equity shares.
Aurobindo Pharma Share Buyback Price
Aurobindo Pharma said that it will buyback its shares from the shareholders at Rs 1,475 apiece.
"Buyback of up to 54,23,728 (Fifty four lakhs twenty three thousand seven hundred and twenty eight only) fully paid-up equity shares of the Company, each having a face value of INR 1, representing up to 0.93% of the total number of equity shares in the paid-up equity share capital of the Company, at a price of INR 1,475 per Equity Share (Buyback Price)," Aurobindo Pharma said.
Aurobindo Pharma share price closed flat at Rs 1,339.80 on Monday (April 6). The buyback price is at a premium of 10 per cent.
Aurobindo Pharma Share Buyback Size
Aurobindo Pharma said that the buyback price will be payable in cash, aggregating to up to Rs 800,00,00,000 being 3.93 per cent and 2.62 per cent of the aggregate of the total paid-up equity share capital and free reserves (including securities premium).
Aurobindo Pharma said that the buyback size does not include transaction costs viz. brokerage costs, fees, turnover charges, applicable taxes on this, securities transaction tax and others.
Aurobindo Pharma Share Buyback Record Date
Aurobindo Pharma said that April 17, 2026 will be the record date for the participation of shareholders in the buyback programme.
"April 17, 2026 (Record Date) as the record date for the purpose of determining the entitlement and the names of equity shareholders who would be eligible to participate in the buyback," Aurobindo Pharma said in the filing.

The share buyback is, however, subject to the approvals of the regulator and statutory authorities, Aurobindo Pharma said.
This is the second share buyback announcement by Aurobindo Pharma, according to BSE data. Aurobindo Pharma had last announced share buyback in July 2024.
