SBI Dividend 2026: State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest bank, has announced a hefty dividend for its shareholders. SBI had made the announcement regarding the dividend payout along with its Q4 FY2026 results. Besides, the SBI's board has also fixed the dividend record date.

SBI Dividend 2026: Amount Per Share

According to an exchange filing, SBI said that its board has recommended a dividend of 1,735 per cent or Rs 17.35 per share of Re 1 face value. 

This is the highest-ever dividend amount announced by SBI in more than a decade.

"Declared a dividend of Rs 17.35 per equity share of Re 1 each fully paid up (i.e. 1735%) for the year ended 31.03.2026," SBI had said in a filing.

SBI Dividend 2026 Record Date

SBI in the same filing said that the board has set May 17 as the record date for the payment of dividend. The dividend will be credited to the bank account of eligible shareholders in the first week of June.

"The register of shareholders of State Bank of India will be closed in view of payment of dividend from 17.05.2026 to 19.05.2026 (both days inclusive), for the financial year 2025-26. The dividend payment date is fixed as 04.06.2026," SBI said in a filing.

SBI Dividend History

As per data available on the BSE website, SBI pays a dividend to its shareholders once a year. In 2025, SBI rewarded its shareholders by paying them a dividend of Rs 50. In 2023, the lender had distributed a dividend of Rs 13.70 per share.

Back in 2023, 2022, and 2021, State Bank of India had paid Rs 11.30, Rs 7.10, and Rs 4 as dividends, respectively, to its investors.
