HDFC Bank Director Resignation: SEBI Breaks Silence

Days after the surprise resignation of HDFC Bank non-executive chairman Atanu Chakraborty, capital markets regulator Sebi's chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey on Monday said independent directors are expected to act responsibly and not make any insinuations. In the comments that come in response to the executive chairman leaving the largest private sector lender, citing concerns on ethics and values, Pandey reminded of the responsibilities of independent directors like Chakraborty.

PSU Bank Stocks In Focus

There is no proposal under consideration before the government on the merger or consolidation of public sector banks (PSBs) at present, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said on Monday. Chaudhary, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, said the amalgamation of PSBs helped create stronger competitive banks with economies of scale and scope while enabling the realisation of wide-ranging synergies.

Wipro Launches Innovation Lab in Seoul

Wipro on Monday announced expansion of its business operations in South Korea, with a larger office footprint in Seoul and the launch of an Innovation Lab. With the launch of the Seoul Innovation Lab, Wipro now operates nine such facilities globally. The new lab will focus primarily on technology, automotive, and industrial sectors, supporting use cases such as intelligent product engineering, software-defined vehicles, smart manufacturing, supply chain optimisation, and AI-enabled operations.

Hindustan Foods Acquires Ultra Beauty Care Facility

FMCG contract manufacturer Hindustan Foods Ltd on Monday announced the acquisition of ayurvedic, herbal beauty care and cosmetic products facility of Ultra Beauty Care Pvt Ltd in Maharashtra for Rs 19.9 crore. The company has executed a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) on March 23, 2026 with Ultra Beauty Care Pvt Ltd and its authorised representatives, for acquisition of the business undertaking at C-15, Five Star Industrial Area MIDC Shendra, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Hindustan Foods Ltd (HFL) said in a regulatory filing.

Vedanta group firm Hindustan Zinc Ltd on Monday said it has partnered with Tata Steel to expand the use of its low-carbon zinc solution, EcoZen, in steel manufacturing. The partnership highlights both firms' resolve to weave climate priorities into their core operations and sourcing strategies.

Vedanta Ltd has announced an interim dividend for its shareholders. This is the third interim by Vedanta for FY2026. As per an exchange filing, Vedanta has recommended an interim dividend of Rs 11. Vedanta has fixed March 28 as the record date.

Indian Bank Raises Rs 5,000 Crore Through Bonds

State-run Indian Bank on Monday said it has raised Rs 5,000 crore through a 10-year, long-term infrastructure bond issue at a coupon rate of 7.15 per cent. Additionally, the bank received one bid for a cumulative amount of Rs 5,075 crore, market participants added.

Adani Green Energy Commissions Projects In Gujarat

Adani Green Energy on Monday said it has operationalised 510 megawatt of power projects in Khavda, Gujarat. With the commissioning of the plants, its total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 17,982.3 megawatt (MW), Adani Green Energy said in an exchange filing. Adani Green Energy Ltd is one of the largest renewable companies in India.
